Chester County – 6 Places Calling Your Name

Posted on Mar 02, 2016

When you pick your next home, give Chester County a try.

This month we are turning our focus on Chester County. It is one of William Penn’s original three Pennsylvania counties (Chester, Philadelphia, Bucks) created in 1682 and is named for Chester, England. The county originally encompassed Delaware County, but the county broke off after the county seat was relocated from an eastern edge of the county to the more centrally located West Chester. As of 2010, Chester County was ranked as the highest-income county in Pennsylvania and the 24th highest in the nation.

Choosing which areas to focus on is always a challenge in our monthly segments. For instance, Chester County consists of 67 boroughs and townships and has 1 city. We took a look at the data and picked six boroughs and townships that represent some of the best real estate for a variety of budgets. The winners were: West Goshen Township, Phoenixville, Westtown, Malvern, Kennett Square, and West Chester.

Before we dive into the numbers, here are a couple of points to know about each.
